Kylie's great, says Nick Cave
Cave has traded his snarling cave-man charm for adoring appreciation. As the divine Miss M began her X 2008 tour in Paris yesterday, Cave delivered a glowing review when asked his thoughts on the singer, with whom he collaborated on the 1996 hit Where the Wild Roses Grow. "Kylie Minogue is the greatest thing that has happened to Australian music," Cave told Cream magazine. "Before her the world didn't have a f...ing clue about our music nor any interest in it. Kylie has more greatness in her little fingernail than every f...ing Aussie indie band put together." The man has spoken.

Amy Winehouse brands Pete Doherty’s music “s*it”
Amy Winehouse has branded pal Pete Doherty’s music “s*it”.
“Amy has thrown back every song Pete has written for her,” says a source close to the Back to Black singer. “She keeps telling him it’s rubbish — and worse — and she’ll only perform if the song is great.
“When she’s in the studio she can be ruthless and doesn’t care about hurting people.
“Pete’s really struggling to get it together. It hasn’t clicked yet.”

R Kelly's alleged sex video aired in court
LATEST: Jurors and spectators in a darkened courtroom have watched a graphic video showing what prosecutors contend is R&B star R Kelly in a sexual encounter with an underage girl.
But lawyers defending the Grammy Award-winning artist said the 26-minute tape shows neither Kelly nor the girl they allege was his victim, and where the video came from remains a mystery.
The tape featuring oral sex and other acts drew little noticeable response from the jurors who will decide if the musician, whose given name is Robert Kelly, is guilty of 14 counts of videotaping, producing and soliciting child pornography - charges that could land him in prison for up to 15 years.
On the tape, which prosecutors say was made in Chicago between January 1998 and November 2000 when the girl was 13 or 14, the face of the man alleged to be Kelly is visible only a few times but he can be seen handing the girl money and heard giving her commands.
The video was shown after prosecutors and defense lawyers gave opening statements in Kelly's trial, with Shauna Boliker of the Cook County state's attorney's office calling the video's contents "vile, disturbing and disgusting sex acts, actions that were choreographed, produced and starred in by Robert Kelly."
"The case will unfold before you frame by disgusting frame," she added, with the girl "doing what she's told. There's no feeling in her face. It is clear she is an underaged girl" whom Kelly met when she was 12.
Boliker said the girl - now in her 20s - will not testify for the prosecution. She has said it is not her on the tape and refused to testify against Kelly, but she may be called as a defense witness, court records indicate.
"Robert Kelly is not on that tape," said defense lawyer Sam Adam.
"There isn't an original of this tape. The tape you're going to see here is at best a copy of a copy of a copy of the original."
Adam said the FBI reviewed the tape and could not identify Kelly as being on the tape.
The trial before Judge Vincent Gaughan of the Cook County Criminal Court got under way six years after Kelly was charged and may last up to seven weeks.
The accusations prompted some radio stations to stop playing Kelly's songs but did not derail his career. He has earned millions of dollars from concert tours and album sales while being free on $750,000 bond.
Kelly shot to fame in the early 1990s with hits like Sex Me and Bump n' Grind.
The carnality of his early lyrics gave way to wholesomeness with the 1996 single I Believe I Can Fly, which earned him three Grammy Awards.

Sex And The City - Can Women Alone Make A Film A Hit
If the latest Indiana Jones movie is attracting generally older moviegoers,
next weekend's top release, Sex and the City, also looks to attract a
non-habitual audience -- women in their 40s and early 50s. As reported by the
Associated Press, the online ticketing service Fandango has determined from a
survey of ticket buyers that 94 percent are women; 67 percent plan to see the
film in a group of other women; 16 percent said that they were going with one
other woman; and just 6 percent said they were going with a man. Paul
Dergarabedian, president of box-office trackers Media by Numbers, told the AP
that his group has determined that the primary audience will be women from 20
to 55. "A huge female audience can create a blockbuster of a movie if there's
enough interest," he said.

'American Idol' Champ Jordin Sparks Predicts A David Cook/ David Archuleta Showdown In The Finals
We all know how the votes have been going on "American Idol," and we've seen some huge talents come and go during the season. But who does last year's winner think will take it all during this year's finale?
We'll give you a hint — they have a Y chromosome.
"I really like Jason Castro," Sparks told MTV News from the orange carpet at last weekend's Kids' Choice Awards. "I like his look, and I love his vulnerability. He goes out there, and if he messes up, he's just like, 'Oops.' But I like David Cook too. I think the guys are where it's at this year. I love you, girls — please don't get me wrong — and I could be totally wrong, because the show is so unpredictable."
But when pressed to go out on a limb and call this season's champ, Sparks demurred but eventually spilled the beans.
"It's going to be either David Archuleta or David Cook," she predicted, before saying that she ultimately believes David Cook — who was hospitalized after Tuesday's show — will be America's next "Idol."
And Sparks will get a chance to meet this year's contenders when she returns to the "Idol" stage for the second "Idol Gives Back" charity event, airing April 9. But there's someone Sparks is really looking forward to meeting next week — and it's not a potential "Idol" but a bona fide one.
"I would die if I got to meet Mariah Carey," she said, in reference to the scheduled "Idol Gives Back" performer.
"Idol" aside, though, Sparks has a lot on her plate. Following next week's appearance on "Idol," Sparks will head out on tour with Alicia Keys and Ne-Yo, before heading overseas for a European jaunt. She's also still trying to break into acting but said she's gotten no serious offers to do so — yet.
"Hopefully, I will get to do some acting soon, because it's so much fun," Sparks said. "When I get to do the music videos, it's like my only chance to act. It's exciting, because I get to be a different character. I love changing into different characters."
What roles would she love to tackle? "I could play the best friend, maybe a broken-hearted girl — anything," she proclaimed.
Sparks' self-titled debut album hit stores in November and has sold well over 600,000 copies.
